On this page I hope eventually to provide a complete list of all Ms Bendix’s publications but this is, of necessity, a long-term project. [C.W-N]

The Playful StewardessTHE PLAYFUL STEWARDESS

When homely Liverpudlian Melody McManus offers to return property developer Rupert Hardstaff to an upright position prior to descent into Charles de Gaulle, she is hardly anticipating the five energetic minutes in BA’s Business Class toilets that ensue. Hardstaff’s flatteringly prompt response having convinced her that being Scouse and mousy need not hold her back in life after all, Melody decides to introduce her own brand of in-flight entertainment to the London-Paris route, but soon has more admirers than she can satisfactorily handle during such a short flight. Should she accept Hardstaff’s offer of his penthouse suite at the Gatwick Hilton at favourable monthly rates, or hold out for a transfer to long haul? Meanwhile, Melody’s childhood sweetheart, Kev, has turned his back on petty street crime and begun working as a cleaner on BA’s European fleet as part of a cunning plan to surprise her with a mid-air proposal. But when he emerges from the overhead locker and discovers from the woman into whose lap he falls that Melody has just accepted a mid-air proposal of quite a different sort from a concrete floor estimator from Limoges, he is faced with a dilemma of his own: should he rush to confront his beloved now, before she goes too far, or should he first secure the duty-free trolley she has casually abandoned, wheels unlocked? As he ponders, the plane commences its approach to Paris, and the trolley begins to roll inexorably down the aisle towards a small, deaf nun…

Tricity’s debut novel is a tour-de-force, in which lust and love fight for supremacy in the skies above France and it’s not just the complimentary peanuts which are a little bit salty.
